To celebrate 100 years of biodynamic agriculture, the Biodynamic Demeter Alliance is hosting its first national conference in Westminster, Colorado from November 8-12. Regenerative Rising, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, launches its first Regenerative Earth Convening with co-production partner, Soil and Climate Alliance, a project of Green America, within the National Biodynamic Conference on Thursday, November 9 from 1-4 p.m. at the Westin Hotel, Westminster, Colorado.

The workshop, Bridging Food and Fashion Industries to Transition to a Regenerative System, explores the necessary partnership between the food and fashion industries to collectively transform agriculture through collaboration and de-risking experimentation for farmers globally. As food and apparel are a human necessity, this topic touches everyone and has particular relevance to entrepreneurs and advocates for new approaches that can remedy current inequities and failings of the dominate systems.

“The innovative energy of the Denver/Boulder business community is uniquely poised to lead the conversation in how to bridge food and fashion for impact on agriculture globally”, says Seleyn DeYarus, founder of Regenerative Rising. “It is a task well suited to the thought leaders who have been driving systemic change in the food industry to add to its aims, collaboration with the apparel industry if we are to meet the extreme challenges of a changing climate, which is impacting agriculture globally.”

Bridging Food and Fashion Industries to Transition to a Regenerative System Workshop features a State of Food Industry Report Out by Jessica Hulse Dillion, director of the Soil and Climate Alliance and a State of the Fashion Industry Report Out by Beth Jensen, director of climate + impact at Textile Exchange. Nisha Mary Poulose, executive director of Regenerative Rising, will present a 2024 Regenerative Rising Outlook. The question of how to bridge food and fashion industries to transition to a regenerative system will be explored by a panel conversation between Stephanie Gripne, executive director, Impact Finance Center; Sara Hill, director of sustainable materials and products for VF Corporation; Anna Strauss, operations & reporting Manager for Growing GRASS, a USDA Climate-Smart Commodities project and Winona LaDuke, founder, Winona’s Hemp & Heritage Farm. The panel will be moderated by Seleyn DeYarus, founder, chair of Regenerative Rising.

In the style of the Regenerative Earth Summits, workshop participants will generate ideas during the working session with an opportunity to establish ongoing working groups via the Soil and Climate Alliance community efforts.
