Tucson Foods introduces new packaging, new items

TUCSON, AZ – Tucson Foods, previously known as Tucson Tamale, is introducing a new, overhauled packaging design for its entire product portfolio, including new items. The package redesign is a result of meaningful consumer insights and offers cohesiveness across new product categories.

The new company name and cosmetic changes were done as the brand premiers two innovative items alongside their storied hand-rolled frozen tamales: Tamale Bites and Fresh Pourable Salsas.

“The decision to revamp our packaging was a dynamic one, considerate of our history, the company’s future and also consumer shopping behavior,” says Sherry Martin, Tucson Food’s co-founder. “Our goal was to offer packaging that communicates our focus on flavor, our Mexican-American roots and that we’re a company about ease and convenience.”

Features of the new design include more prominent product type identification and flavor name and easier-to-locate product claims. The color scheme was equally inspired by Mexican folk art and the Sonoran Desert culture. The release of new packaging will be a gradual process and consumers can expect to see the new packaging on shelves over the next year.
