If you?re confused about Codex, don?t worry: Help is a few keystrokes away. The National Nutritional Foods Association launched the ?Codex Alimentarius Resource Center? at www.nnfa.org/codex.

Recent developments surrounding the Codex Alimentarius Commission, which was jointly created by the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization of the United Nations to develop food standards, guidelines and codes of practice, have sent tremors through the U.S. dietary supplement industry.

?What we want to accomplish is to make sure that everyone in the industry has the right information,? said NNFA Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer David Seckman.

The regularly updated Web site will serve as a primer on all of the issues surrounding Codex, and includes an overview of the Codex Alimentarius Commission?s activities, NNFA?s official position, fact sheets, FAQs and articles on Codex. Additionally, the official Codex Web sites of various U.S. government agencies, as well as other Codex-related sites, will be accessible through the center.

?It?s a one-stop shop for information on Codex,? said Tracy Taylor, NNFA vice president of public affairs.
