DSM offers functional drinks in an instant

DSM Nutritional Products has unveiled a range of beverage premixes that allow manufacturers to create 'instant' functional products.

The Quali-Blends formulations contain ready-made blends of nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, nucleotides and amino acids, designed to deliver a range of health benefits. Premixes are available for products targeting heart health, bone health, healthy ageing and immune system support.

The launch is being supported by a new web-based formulation centre, which DSM said would provide "easy to use concept development and formulation assistance to customers looking to enhance the nutritional value of their products."

The site — at www.quali-blends.com — hosts a formulation centre where manufacturers can input their application requirements for DSM Nutritional Products to translate into a tailored nutritional product.

Anthony Hehir, market development manager at Switzerland-based DSM Nutritional Products, said: "Extremely user-friendly, the premixes simply dissolve in liquid without affecting the flavour of the final product.
