3 organic beauty picks from Natural Products Expo East 2019

These organic, clean-label skin care and lifestyle brands stood out on the Natural Products Expo East show floor because of their push for transparency in natural cosmetics.

Natural beauty brands are skyrocketing in popularity with many of the same trends that have swept up consumers in the natural food sphere (think plant based, clean label and eco-friendly packaging). Because there is no federal regulation for organic cosmetics that aren't food grade as of yet, many companies are taking extra measures to seek out third-party certifications from internationally recognized organizations such as Ecocert and Soil Association

With the global clean beauty market is expected to reach more than $22 billion by 2024, it's important for members of the natural products community to support brands that are doing right by their consumers and the planet in terms of ethical, safe sourcing methods. With that, below are some organic highlights in the natural beauty category from Natural Products Expo East 2019.

noyah

noyah offers consumers a wide range of 100% food grade lip care products—this is an important consideration because of how many pounds of lip products we ingest over a lifetime. And that's not all that impressed us: Its lipstick packaging artfully incorporates bamboo for an eco-chic take on the classic lipstick tube.

Earth Mama Organics

Earth Mama Organics, a company that focuses on clean products for expectant and new mothers and babies, recently took its first foray into skin care: Tinted sunscreen sticks. We loved that the two mineral sunscreen-based shades could be used by a wide range of skin tones for easy contouring and reapplication throughout the day.

Organic Initiative

Organic Initiative is one of several organic feminine hygiene brands highlighting the damage that conventional tampons and pads can inflict over decades of use. Not to mention, most conventional products take an enormous amount of time to decay, whereas Organic Initiative's products use biodegradable bioplastic material.
