NeoCell to give 1 percent of Walgreens sales to Vitamin Angels

NeoCell and Walgreens have partnered to raise money for the nonprofit group Vitamin Angels, whose mission is to provide children with life-saving and life-changing nutrition.

Through the end of 2014, NeoCell will donate 1% of the retail value of all its products sold at Walgreens stores to Vitamin Angels.

In addition, NeoCell will also run its now-annual fall campaign to raise money for Vitamin Angels. Since it began its partnership with Vitamin Angels, NeoCell has donated more than $260,000 to the group - enough to help more than 1,000,000 at-risk mothers and children get the essential nutrients their bodies need to survive and thrive.

NeoCell's partnership with Vitamin Angels goes beyond raising money. In 2013, NeoCell VP of Sales and Marketing Jessica Mulligan saw firsthand the difference that Vitamin Angels' efforts make in the lives of children, as she traveled with the group to remote villages in Peru.

"Seeing the very real difference that NeoCell's contributions are making in the lives of children in need was one of the best experiences of my life," said Mulligan.

According to Vitamin Angels, about 45% of all child deaths worldwide are caused by undernutrition; that's 3.1 million innocent lives lost annually. Millions more will never reach their full physical or mental potential. Many of these children can be saved and their lives dramatically improved through access to supplementation. For just a quarter, Vitamin Angels can provide a young child with all the vitamin A he or she needs for an entire year.
