UNPA strengthens membership roster

The United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA), an international association of forward-looking companies dedicated to providing consumers with natural health products of superior quality, benefit and reliability, is pleased to announce the Executive-level membership of Global Health Industries (GHI).

Based in Ogden, Utah, Global Health Industries is a manufacturer of high-quality dietary supplements, custom homeopathic products and a pioneer in the manufacture of probiotics. The company began in 1981 as Pro Pac Labs Inc., providing contract manufacturing services to customers. In the past 15 years, the company has developed and refined a number of best practices for manufacturing probiotic products. It specializes in taking products from concept to reality, with attention to detail and quality every step of the way.

GHI is one of the oldest single-owner contract manufacturers in the country, with 35 years in business. The company maintains strict compliance with FDA cGMP standards and, for the past 13 years, compliance to the standards of Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration, as well as the cGMP standards of many other countries. At GHI, the “quality of life” and the “quality of our products” matter. The company’s culture and market leadership define it.

“At Global Health Industries, we recognize the crucial role that UNPA plays in educating businesses, governments and consumers in advancing access to natural products of the highest quality around the world,” said Kyle Griffiths, chief marketing officer of GHI. “The commitment of UNPA mirrors that of Global Health Industries in that we understand that ‘givers’ gain in building the long-term success of our industry. We desire to work with UNPA and its members to promote continued excellence in the natural products marketplace.”

“Global Health Industries has been a shining example of leadership in its development and manufacturing of supplement products of the highest quality that adhere to global cGMP standards so vital in today’s volatile market,” said Loren Israelsen, UNPA president. “The company’s executive team brings years of consistency, experience and industry leadership to the UNPA membership, and we welcome their insights and knowledge as we work toward our joint mission of providing superior products to consumers worldwide.”

UNPA also welcomes Sabinsa Corp. as a returning Executive Member. Sabinsa Corp., with U.S. facilities in Payson, Utah, and East Windsor, N.J., is amanufacturer, supplier and marketer of herbal extracts, cosmeceuticals, minerals, dietary supplements and specialty fine chemicals for the nutritional, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industries. Sabinsa has carved a niche for itself by its extensive research support for its customers and products, and the scientific credentials of its key technical staff. Founded in 1988 by Muhammed Majeed, Ph.D., Sabinsa is a company dedicated to the principles of tradition, innovation and research.

UNPA is also pleased to announce that Lindon, Utah-based NUVI has joined the association as its newest Science & Technology Services member.

NUVI is a real-time analytics platform focused on social media engagement and reporting. The company’s web-based software platform makes social conversations actionable and insightful, using elegant dashboards and unique visualizations. Spun out of the creative agency Struck in 2011, NUVI is the tool of choice for innovative and socially intelligent organizations and is the exclusive partner in the wire service industry of the world’s leading commercial newswire, Business Wire, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway. NUVI analyzes data from millions of sources, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google+ and more than three million RSS feeds and presents the data in a visually intuitive, real-time display of conversations that measure influence and sentiment. The features allow users to engage audiences, evaluate competitors and analyze success of advertising, market research, PR and marketing.

“With a swift-moving, ever-changing natural products industry, social media channels have become the primary and most efficient way to disperse news, blogs, articles and even consumer posts,” said Christian Cox, NUVI account executive. “We want to provide an outlet where social media analytics can become actionable, allowing members to proactively listen, manage their social initiatives in real time and even engage directly with consumers from the platform. We want to give UNPA members an advantage over the many other competing companies in the vertical.”

“As digital communications and customer engagement gain increasing importance for companies in the natural health products business, NUVI’s innovative software platform is at the forefront of marketing analytics and customer engagement, which will play a vital role in ongoing consumer awareness and understanding of natural products, particularly dietary supplements,” said UNPA President Loren Israelsen. “We look forward to the participation and insight of the NUVI team in our programs and to support our members as they work toward strong and positive messaging about natural health products.”

In addition, UNPA welcomes three new Associate Members that join a growing list of consultancies and service companies to complement the association’s list of Executive and Science & Technology Services members. Joining the association as Associate Members are:

  • CoQ10 Association, Salt Lake City
