Jarrow Formulas® Signs on as Title Sponsor

Los Angeles, CA, February 25, 2010 – Jarrow Formulas®, Inc., a global wellness and nutritional product company headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, Greater Los Angeles/Orange County Chapter, have announced that Jarrow Formulas will be the title sponsor for its upcoming “Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis Walk” on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at LA’s historic Griffith Park. The event will include a live band, a Kid’s Zone, information booths and a beautiful 2-mile walk throughout the park.

Since 1986, Jarrow Formulas has been a pioneer in the field of developing high-quality probiotic supplements for infants, children, adults, women’s health, seniors, and pets, which have been known to help alleviate digestive discomfort, bloating, bouts of constipation and occasional diarrhea. These products include Jarro-Dophilus Enhanced Probiotic System (EPS), the number 1 selling probiotic product in the U.S., and Fem-Dophilus, an oral probiotic for women backed by 20 years of research that helps maintain and restore healthy microflora throughout the vaginal and urinary tracts. Jarrow Formulas continues to create new and innovative probiotic products including just-released Ideal Bowel Support (IBS) 299v, a clinically documented probiotic for bowel support and comfort.

The “Los Angeles Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis Walk” is an effort to raise money for crucial research and to raise awareness of these painful and often debilitating digestive diseases that afflict millions of people.
After only two years, CCFA’s Take Steps Walks have raised more than $13 million for research and patient service programs. Jarrow Formulas and the CCFA of Greater Los Angeles are committed to help transform the lives of those impacted by Crohn’s and Colitis through sound science and well-funded, cutting-edge clinical research.

“At Jarrow Formulas, we are acutely aware of the silent suffering of many Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis patients. We believe that dynamic events like ‘Take Steps’ can help increase visibility and raise the profile for worthy causes like this to bring us closer to a cure,” says Trish Mahon, Director of Marketing for Jarrow Formulas. “We are excited to not only sponsor this event, but plan to put on our walking shoes and see the park!”

Founded in 1967, The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Four decades ago, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation created the field of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis research. Today, the Foundation funds cutting-edge studies at major medical institutions, nurtures investigators at the early stages of their careers, and finances underdeveloped areas of research.
