3 products defining the future of protein

Out of six promising sustainable protein products from Finland, France, Germany and Great Britain/South Africa, here are the three that came out on top at REFAB's inaugural "Future Protein Award" competition.

At this year's Revolution in Food and Biomass Production (REFAB) conference, 200 participants from 23 countries came together to exchange ideas about a plethora of widely varied topics; speakers touched on everything from plant cultivation on Mars to the best vertical farming methods. There was also much ado about the alternative protein sources that will feed our exponentially growing world in the future, which brings us to the "Future Protein Award," a commendation presented by the nova-Institute that recognizes companies with products representative of innovative protein sources. Click through the gallery to learn which three products had the biggest impact.
