EAS holds workshop on ASEAN supplement regulations

Regulatory experts at EAS Strategic Advice will be on hand to guide companies through the health supplement regulations in ASEAN at a free-to-attend three-hour workshop at Vitafoods Asia next month.

Taking place on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 10:30 to 13:30 in the Seminar Theatre at the Vitafoods Asia event in Hong Kong, the workshop will explain the challenges and opportunities for market access within the ASEAN harmonization initiatives.

It will cover similarities and differences in existing national regulations for health supplements in ASEAN countries; common areas to consider when building multi-market regulatory strategies, and the ASEAN harmonization process and harmonized technical requirements for health supplements.

“A number of developments in the area of health supplements harmonization have gotten underway in ASEAN and are soon to be implemented by the member states,” said Wai Mun Poon, regional regulatory affairs manager at EAS Strategic Advice. “This workshop aims to help companies understand future requirements and plan their business strategies accordingly, to maximize the opportunities that the harmonized ASEAN arena will bring.”

At the Vitafoods Asia event, EAS experts will also be offering free 20-minute one-on-one regulatory advice sessions on the do’s and don'ts in terms of product formulation, health claims, new foods or food supplement ingredients, labeling requirements and procedures for entering the different markets.
