FDA issues request for information and draft guidance on fiber on nutrition facts label

In its final rule on nutrition labeling requirements published earlier this year, the FDA will allow only naturally occurring fibers to be declared under the "dietary fiber" label. In conjunction with its draft guidance released last week, FDA is asking for scientific data and comments to help it determine exactly which fibers should be added to its definition of "dietary fiber." Read more at The National Law Review...

A sprinkle of seaweed could deflate gassy cows

Scientists have recognized that cows produce major amounts of greenhouse gases, and some are targeting them as way to curb climate change.
