FDA’s four biggest CBD questions

Following May’s public hearing, the agency’s cannabinoid working group announced its most critical health concerns. They include safe daily consumption levels, drug interactions, effects on “special populations” like children and the elderly and possible risks of long-term exposure. 22 percent of consumers replace OTC, prescription drugs with CBD

A recent national 2019 Consumer Reports survey of more than 4,000 CBD users found that nearly a quarter used CBD to replace OTC drugs such as Tylenol and prescription drugs, including opioids, anti-anxiety medications and sleep aids. Oregon State launches nation’s largest hemp research center

The Global Hemp Innovation Center will be based in Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Sciences in Corvallis, with research taking place across the world. Big Apple ban kicks in

Beginning the first week of July, New York City health inspectors will look for CBD food and beverages as part of routine safety inspections, though they won’t begin issuing violations until Oct. 1.
