Inside Organic Summit

Organic sales, which has passed $63 billion, continues to record year-over-year sales growth. However, consumer confusion about the meaning of organic could, some say, slow down future sales increases.

From seed to retail shelf, this summit will explore the organic communication strategies that are working, the messages from across the supply chain that could be further elevated and where new messaging opportunities lie.

To help brands and retailers reduce this confusion, New Hope Network is hosting the first Inside Organic Summit at noon ET Tuesday, Aug. 23. Several industry experts will be presenting at the free event:

  • Representatives from NielsenIQ, SPINS and the Organic Trade Association will share the latest sales numbers and trends that affect the organic marketplace.

  • Erin Silva, associate professor of plant pathology at University of Wisconsin, and Jennifer O’Connor, an expert on regenerative agriculture, will  discuss how organic practices create resilient and restorative food systems and more. O’Connor is the founder of Guidelight Strategies, an agency that helps nonprofits form strong strategies, and the executive director of Funders for Regenerative Agriculture, an initiative designed to accelerate the increasing use of regenerative agriculture practices. https://forainitiative.org/

  • Lee Robinson, Whole Foods Market’s vice president of merchandising, grocery, and Jeremiah McElwee, chief merchandising officer at Thrive Market, will share their insights regarding what consumers are responding to at retail.
