Pride month is here again, and a plethora of food, clothing and cosmetic brands are taking the opportunity to showcase their support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Consumers, as many in the natural products industry have already noted, are increasingly buying from brands that take a stand on issues that reflect their personal values and beliefs. Check out four Pride-ified natural products and the charities they promote below.
KIND Pride Bars
KIND's Pride Bars mark the first product installment of the company's Snack and Give Back project, a long-term initiative that aims to show kindness toward communities that haven't historically received their fair share of it. All proceeds from sales will be donated to the Ali Forney Center, an organization that works to empower and protect homeless LGBTQIA+ youth.
Brew Dr. Kombucha Love Wins
Brew Dr. Kombucha has partnered with The Trevor Project for its colorful and limited edition jasmine-, lavender- and green tea-based kombucha. The kombucha maker has pledged to financially support the training of three TrevorChat crisis counselors–a job that touches the lives of over 1500 young members of the community each year.
Youth to the People Superfood Cleanser Pride Edition
Natural skincare brand Youth to the People this month launched a Pride Edition of its popular plant-based cleanser in earth-friendly rainbow-covered packaging. 100% of profits will be donated to GLSEN, which promotes education and safety in schools surrounding LGBTQIA+ issues and students, respectively.
Bobo's Lemon Poppyseed Pride Bar
Boulder-based natural food company Bobo's transformed the packaging of its signature lemon poppyseed-flavored oat bar this month in support of The Center on Colfax in Denver, Colorado. Bobo's founder Beryl Stafford stated that the brand is proud to align itself with The Center on Colfax because of the 1976-founded organization's varied efforts to support the Rocky Mountain region's LGBTQIA+ community. 30% of all sales will be donated to The Center.
