Mark Roman of Tampa Bay Analytical dies

We are sad to inform you that Mark C. Roman, owner of Tampa Bay Analytical in Tampa, Fla., passed May 8 due to metastatic lung cancer. To his friends and industry colleagues, his passing has been a shock. Many have known of his illness, but were surprised at his relatively rapid decline. He was scheduled to begin a new phase of his cancer treatment this week.

Mark was an excellent analytical chemist and worked diligently toward the creation of high quality standards, robust analytical methods and ethical marketing practices in the herb and dietary supplement industry in the U.S., striving to instill quality and integrity in botanical materials and products.

Mark was 46 years old. He is survived by his parents.
