AUBURN, Wash. (June 28, 2022)—The Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG), one of the largest nonprofit gluten-free advocacy organizations and GIG Cares, a nonprofit organization tackling challenges facing the gluten-free community, are hosting a “A Night to Care,” an evening gala to raise funds to support a variety of programs for families living gluten-free. The gala is being held at the Historic 1625 Tacoma Place in Tacoma, Washington on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. PT. The event’s goal is to raise funds to expand GIG Cares initiatives that include GIG Cares’ Cutting Costs food relief program, Generation GF programs for gluten-free children and teens, support groups for the gluten-free community and more. All these programs accelerate GIG Cares’ mission to cultivate positive connections in the gluten-free community.

As an independent organization, GIG Cares supports the basic needs of the gluten-free community, starting with providing food assistance for individuals and families facing gluten-free food insecurity. Through a financial grant from GIG and donations in support of families and children with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, GIG Cares’ monthly boxes of food contain Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) certified, safe gluten-free products. Since December, GIG Cares has distributed nearly 1,000 Cutting Costs boxes to families nationwide.

Additionally, GIG Cares helps kids, teens and young adults navigate celiac disease and gluten sensitivity through its Generation GF program. Generation GF provides educational resources to make their gluten-free journey easier though mentorship programs, summer camps, kid-approved gluten-free recipes and more.

The Night to Care gala is an evening of food and entertainment with both silent and live auctions. Auction items include VIP tickets to a Seattle Mariners game, a NASCAR driving experience, a trip to Iceland and more. The auction will be both in-person and online for those unable to attend.

“We’re grateful for the continued support of all those contributing that make these much-needed programs possible,” said Channon Quinn, CEO of GIG Cares. “Thank you in advance to those who can attend this gala or participate in the charitable auctions. That support will make it possible to continue to expand our operation to ensure that no one goes hungry due to the cost of gluten-free food and positivity is cultivated through our other programs designed to connect the gluten-free community.”
