Six companies — producers of such innovative foods and beverages as coffee without a cup, pinole and bagless teas — are the latest additions to AccelFoods' fast-growing portfolio, the investment platform announced Monday.
These companies are the first to be backed by AccelFoods' newly launched second Fund. The companies will receive hands-on, day-to-day support from the AccelFoods operating team; mentorship from industry experts; and value-added support from strategic partners over the course of an intensive eight-month program.
AccelFoods is known for investing in some of the most disruptive and innovative products on the market, including edible insects, jicama and superfood mushrooms.

The companies chosen this year are from California, Colorado and New York:
il Morso, based in Treasure Island, California, crafts a melt-in-the-mouth coffee experience that delivers a caffeine lift. The product is organic, fair trade and non-GMO.
Nona Lim offers an innovative and growing line of all-natural soups, bone broths, ramen noodles and gluten-free rice noodles. The Oakland, California-based Nona Lim believes that clean, simple cooking yields the best flavor and nutrition.
Santa Monica, California-based Native State Foods brings pinole, an ancient Aztec powerfood, to the U.S. with its Purely Pinole brand. This gluten-free, non-GMO hot cereal is a high-fiber, high-protein, nutrient-dense offering that is rich in antioxidants.
Northern California-based Tea Drops manufactures certified USDA organic, bagless, pressed teas that dissolve instantly in hot water. The drops are crafted in whimsical shapes with finely sourced tea and spices.
Crunchsters, in Boulder, Colorado, offers a new savory snack made from sprouted mung beans that packs a nutritional punch of protein, fiber and minerals.
Wandering Bear Coffee, based in New York is disrupting home and office coffee options by putting bold, smooth, ready-to-drink, cold-brew iced coffee on tap in any refrigerator.
