Science might have identified the optimal human diet

It's no secret that the typical Western diet is a one-way ticket to health problems including obesity, rheumatoid arthritis, depression and metabolic dysfunction. But what is the "ideal" diet? Whatever product shoppers choose, Consumer Reports advocates they make sure to pick one with 6 grams of sugar or less. Consumer Reports has the full scoop ...

New study reveals an unintended side effect of intermittent fasting

Intermittent fasting isn't turning out to be the silver bullet in terms of losing weight and speeding up metabolism that consumers have been led to believe it is. A new comprehensive study showed that a group of fasting participants did not differ in terms of fat mass, fasting insulin, blood sugar, HbA1C or lipids from the control group that ate three meals a day. One reason for this could be the lack of energy that in turn suppresses the physical activity of consumers who engage in intermittent fasting.
