youtheory™ is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Nick Bitz as its chief scientific officer. Dr. Nick will oversee product development and formulations for the supplement company. Dr. Nick is a licensed, board-certified naturopathic doctor who holds a passion for integrative medicine that combines conventional health care with leading natural therapeutics, including botanical medicine, clinical nutrition and physician-grade nutritional supplements. 

"Dr. Nick is extremely well respected in the industry and we are thrilled to have him on the team," said youtheory CEO Darren Rude. "He has been innovating supplements for years and I look forward to working with him on our existing men's and main line of products as well as new product launches at youtheory." 

Prior to joining youtheory, Dr. Bitz served as director of product development for Irwin Naturals. While there, he helped to create a wide range of products for the mass market and natural channels. He will fulfill a similar but expanded role at youtheory by supporting the marketing team and overseeing operational and scientific affairs, including research, new product development and DSHEA compliance. 

Dr. Bitz is one of a few select individuals that have received extensive education and clinical-training in Ayurvedic medicine, a traditional healing system of India considered to be the first form of medicine in the world. Bitz believes that a multi-disciplinary approach to health care brings out the best outcomes in most cases. Along with Ayurvedic medicine, he has had a multitude of experience in the field of family medicine, highlighting: preventive medicine, anti-aging medicine, women's health, functional endocrinology, environmental medicine/heavy metal toxicity, digestive health, allergies and ayurvedic consultations. 

Dr. Bitz completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Denver where he received two bachelor degrees in human biology and cognitive neuroscience. He went on to earn his medical degree from Bastyr University and completed a residency in family medicine at the Riverwalk Natural Health Clinic in Vail, Colo. Outside of his clinical work, Bitz is a writer, speaker and expert in nutritional supplement formulations. He is also a lifelong yogi and enjoys hiking, biking, trail running and exploring his new home of Orange County.
