Tasteva stevia named Best Dairy Ingredient

Tate & Lyle, a global provider of food ingredients and solutions, is pleased to announce that its innovative, natural, no-calorie sweetener, TASTEVA™ Stevia Sweetener has been named Best Dairy Ingredient in the Dairy Innovation Awards, providing further confirmation that TASTEVA Stevia Sweetener is well placed to meet the needs of customers in the dairy industry as well as a broad range of other applications. TASTEVA Stevia Sweetener, a versatile, clean tasting sweetener, is easy to formulate with and has shown in tests to be preferred by consumers offering a superior taste profile over Reb A 97 and other stevia products.

In its awards submission, Tate & Lyle demonstrated that in a strawberry yoghurt recipe it had used TASTEVA Stevia Sweetener to deliver sweetness from a natural source, without the bitter aftertaste often associated with other high purity, stevia-based sweeteners while also reducing total sugar levels by 40 percent.

Luis Fernandez, vice president of global applications at Tate & Lyle, said: “This award recognizes the team work between our ingredient developers and our food application scientists. A combination of TASTEVA Stevia Sweetener, with its unique sensory properties, and our dairy application formulation expertise helps us to create new innovative finished products with our customers to help meet consumer expectations”.

The 2013 Dairy Innovation Awards were organized by FoodBev in association with the seventh annual Dairy Congress. FoodBev received over 140 entries from 23 countries.
