The nation's first jurisdiction to ban
BPA did so yesterday when legislators in Suffolk County, New York, joined Canada by making plastic products containing the chemical -- linked to various health problems -- illegal. Consumers Union reports that Oregon, Washington, California, and Chicago are also considering banning BPA. Meanwhile, the FDA has not changed its safe-for-humans stance.
