Balance Unveils New Brand Identity and New Products At Natural Products Expo East

BOULDER, Colo.–Sept. 25, 2007 - The makers of premium, natural and organic Earth Balance® Buttery Spreads, is introducing three new products and unveiling their new brand identity at the Natural Products Expo East, the company announced today.

Capitalizing on momentum from a new ownership team and already successful spread offerings, the company will launch its new Earth Balance® 50/50 Butter Blends, in both salted and unsalted versions, as well as a new olive oil version of their natural buttery spread – Earth Balance® Whipped Naturally Buttery Spread with Olive Oil. The new owners have also reinvented the Earth Balance® identity and will present their new logo and packaging design at the show.

“Our original natural and organic products have proved immensely popular, and now we are broadening our product offerings with butter blends and an olive oil spread to satisfy our consumers with a wider range of tastes,” said Rickard Werner, Vice President and General Manager for Earth Balance® products. “As more and more people turn to natural and healthier foods, we are going to be there to give them what they want. Maybe even before they know they want it.”

The new 50/50 Butter Blends combine real creamery butter with the Earth Balance® Buttery Spread to create a spread that is naturally trans fat free. Additionally it has no hydrogenated oils and contains 25 percent less saturated fat than butter. The new Earth Balance® Natural Buttery Spread with Olive Oil adds expeller-pressed extra virgin olive oil, resulting in a spread that is non-dairy, gluten and lactose free, contains no trans fats, and is an excellent source of ALA Omega-3.
