By the numbers: Frozen foods

Don’t expect frozen-food sales to cool off anytime soon. According to a recent report from Rockville, Md.-based market research firm Packaged Facts, consumers are increasingly reaching into the freezer for healthy products that make it easier to eat well on the quick. 

6.6 percent: sales growth of natural frozen lunch and dinner entrees from 2009 to 2010

$39 million: total sales of natural frozen foods in 2010, up 10.2 percent from 2009

$36 million: total sales of natural frozen foods in naturals stores

6.2 percent: decrease in sales of natural frozen juices and beverages between 2009 and 2010

$56 billion: conventional channel sales of frozen foods in 2010, up 22 percent since 2006

$70 billion: projected market growth of frozen foods and beverages by 2015
