NPEV Retail Discovery presents ‘Purpose-Driven Innovation’ event

Retailers can learn about the latest trends in purpose-driven innovation, discover new products and build connections with brands during this virtual get-together on Wednesday.

The second of three NPEV Retail Discovery Sessions—"Purpose-Driven Innovation," scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET Wednesday, July 13, on the Natural Products Expo Virtual platform—features trend and retail insights from New Hope Network along with tips and information for brands from featured retailers Target, Misfits Market and Thrive Market.

The NPEV Retail Discovery Sessions were created to support brand and retail connections in a focused, efficient format. The third session—Retail Discovery Session - Opportunities in Organic, scheduled for Nov. 9—will include MOM's Organic Market.

All-Access NPEV brand members who attend the event might get a chance to meet directly with buyers from Target, Misfits Market and Thrive Market through the NPEV Community platform, thanks to curated recommendations provided by New Hope Network and based on brand and buyer needs. Other buyers are invited to attend and set up their own meetings with NPEV All-Access brands.

Also on Wednesday, retailers will meet with a selection of young brands and learn about product launches that are having a positive impact on people and the planet. There will be supplement, personal care and food and beverage brands within the purpose-driven innovations space, including those featured here. 1. Numi Organic Tea

This innovative brand is the first to provide its own Carbon Footprint Label for the tea industry. Each product is organized by emissions categories: ingredients, packaging, transport and preparation. Using only compostable plant-based tea bag wrappers made from renewable materials like sustainably harvested FSC-certified paper and non-GMO sugarcane, this organic tea brand is Climate Neutral Certified and produces 67% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional tea wrappers. Additionally, the Numi Foundation provides resources such as COVID-19 food relief, NUMI Curriculum and the Together for H2OPE nonprofit program.

2. MegaFood

Using only quality ingredients, this vitamin and supplement brand tests for 125+ pesticides and offers products with multiple certifications including Certified Glyphosate Residue Free, Non-GMO Project Verified, USDA Organic and Certified Vegan. MegaFood is a Certified B Corporation making strides in the regenerative agriculture space with its partner sourcing program. The program follows a healthy farm standard for rebuilding the soil, conserving resources, supporting farm management and workers and providing nutritional access.

3. Province Apothecary

Province Apothecary  is a women-owned, Certified Vegan skincare brand with products made with ethically sourced and certified ingredients. Its sustainable packaging is made with eco-friendly ink and PCR materials whenever possible. This business is powered by renewable energy and additionally partners with the Pact Collective to repurpose and recycle its packaging. Furthermore, it donates a percentage of sales to several organizations including the Nature Conservancy of Canada and 1% for the Planet.
