National Enzyme is proud to announce the addition of a full-service, analytical, microbiological and
characteristics laboratory to their family of companies. This new addition will add 600 square feet of space for in-house laboratory testing. The new laboratory houses state-of-the-art chemistry instrumentation that allows for detailed testing, offering in- depth analysis.
Ken Paydon, Director of Laboratory Services, could not be happier to oversee this addition to the current laboratory facilities. “The new laboratory will house six new instruments including the ICP-OES, GC-MS, HPLC-DAD, UPLC, FTIR and ELISA. These state-of-the-art instruments will offer identity, quality and potency testing in-house at NEC which is of great benefit to our customers.”
The addition of this new laboratory could not have come at a better time for a company working in the natural products industry. With questionable raw material suppliers existing and adulterated products popping up, it is essential for a manufacturer to have the ability to accurately identify all that passes through their doors. Not only is identification important, but testing for the highest level of quality and potency to ensure efficacious products. “These new tools are in addition to NEC’s proven capabilities as experts in the art of enzyme analysis for nearly 80 years,” stated Paydon.
Along with this new full-service laboratory comes the goal of ISO Certification. NEC plans to work vigorously to obtain this certification by fall 2010.
“In the past six months National Enzyme Company has made many impressive upgrades to their manufacturing process. Including; paperless manufacturing software, new high-capacity blending equipment, innovative packaging options and now a full-service, analytical, microbiological and characteristics laboratory. Having a progressive attitude towards upgrades, investments and the future can positively position a company in the current regulatory environment. Staying a step ahead of quality requirements, equipment upgrades and manufacturing processes will positively position National Enzyme to better serve new and existing customers,” stated Charles Amidon, Chief Operating Officer.
