The BENEO-Group launches the BENEO-Institute at this year’s FiEurope (FiE) in Frankfurt, Germany. Created to fulfill the aim of ‘Connecting Nutrition and Health,’ the Institute has been established to provide the BENEO-Group’s customers and partners access to expertise from all three business units: BENEO-Orafti, BENEO-Palatinit and BENEO-Remy. Customers will benefit from the latest research in nutritional science and advice on claims and other regulatory-affairs topics that range from rice derivates to prebiotics and functional sugar.
The focus of the BENEO-Institute is supporting a healthy lifestyle and a prevention-oriented diet. Key nutritional topics that will form the basis of the BENEO-Institute’s work include: weight management, digestive health, physical and mental performance, the effects of a low glycemic diet in the context of healthy eating and disease prevention, and dental health.
Working with an international network of scientists from various universities, research institutes and food industry partners, the BENEO-Group will draw from long-term experience to create a sound scientific basis for benefits, to promote innovation in health and nutrition, and to communicate the added value which its functional ingredients provide to consumers.
The new BENEO-Institute will consist of three teams of specialists selected from life science, nutrition communication and legislation/regulatory affairs divisions, supported by further internal experts including food technologists and/or chemists and experts from the BENEO-Institute global network.
Yves Servotte, BENEO-Group Executive Board Member, states: “We’re delighted to be unveiling the BENEO-Institute at this year’s Food Ingredients Europe exhibition. Through bringing together and building on our existing network of highly regarded scientific and academic contacts within food and life science, the BENEO-Institute represents an exciting new phase for the Group. Our customers and partners will benefit from the research being carried out into functional ingredients and the increasing detailed knowledge about these ingredients. The transformation of this knowledge into dossiers for substantiation of claims and sound interpretation of regulatory challenges will add value and ultimately improve the efficiency of the development of new products.”
The BENEO-Institute will act as an advisory body for customers and partners for the entire product development process, from ingredient approval, nutritional composition and physiological effects, to communications and labelling questions. A combination of insight, high profile scientific research and the BENEO-Group’s impressive heritage in developing ingredients that offer technical, nutritional and health benefits, will enable the BENEO-Group’s pioneering customers and partners to remain at the forefront of the food and beverage industries.
The BENEO-Group is the ideal partner for those looking to create products which promote weight management and digestive, bone and dental health. During FiE, the BENEO-Group will present, for the first time, a completely new approach by showing the use of all its ingredients in solution platforms embracing confectionery, bakery and cereals, beverages, baby food and dairy.
BENEO-Group spokespeople will be available on Stand 9D16 for consultations and will also take part in the FiE conference program scheduled throughout the exhibition. Conference topics include:
- Leveraging the latest science to boost the effectiveness of a product range: “Gut Health Ingredients & Opportunities” by Hélène Alexiou, Nutrition Communication Manager, BENEO-Orafti
