"Herbal medicine has always been a part of the Arab culture, it was just about taking a little effort to revive it. And that's exactly what this exhibition will do, especially at a time when the demand for natural medicinal herb products continues to increase steadily worldwide, primarily due to the negligible side effects in comparison to the orthodox medicinal products." said Dr. Mazen, General Director of the Zayed Complex for Herbal Research & Traditional Medicine. The Zayed Complex for Herbal Research & Traditional Medicine is the only traditional medicine research center in the country and the first of its kind in the Arab world. A part of the Ministry of Health, this organization was recently declared a recognized institution by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The exhibition will be backed by a conference with international speakers who will create an awareness as well as educate on the effectiveness of the chosen areas. The exhibition will be open to public in the evenings. There will also be special events such as ayurvedic demonstrations, reiki healing, reflexology, culinary awakening, tisserand aromatherapy, massages etc.
Running alongside this will be another exhibition and conference namely, ‘The World Of Olives’, an event entirely dedicated to the olive business. Both the exhibitions will be backed by conferences with international speakers who will create an awareness as well as educate on the effectiveness of the chosen areas.
