If you missed it...you should make Michael Pollan’s article in the Sunday New York Times magazine a destination. The writer says that we are a nation of spectators--football, baseball and that now we can add food to that list as well. Pollan points out many of today’s cooking shows are built around convenience and packaged foods. But the trend he finds even more alarming are the shows that just feature eating, often oversized portions and choices bound to clog an artery or two. His basic premise- if you abandon the kitchen you lose touch with food and health.
