Nature’s Path takes greater role in OTA

Organic Program Manager joins board of Organic Trade Association

Blaine, Wash., USA – Nature’s Path Foods has been a long-time supporter and member of the Organic Trade Association (OTA). It now has a new position on the OTA’s board of directors with the recent appointment of Nature’s Path Foods’ Organic Program Manager Dag Falck.

Falck, who joined the Nature’s Path Foods in May 2003, looks forward to his role on the OTA board and helping address various needs in the organic foods industry.

“As organic is becoming more of a mainstream brand and with annual growth rates in excess of 20 percent, there are many challenges facing this industry,” he noted. “Organic agriculture started with a small group of individualists who wanted to develop an alternative to mainstream chemically based agriculture. Now as organic-culture is facing unprecedented success the sector needs the skills to deal with expansion rather than maintaining the stoic resistance so necessary in the early days.”

Falck added that this significant growth in the organic foods industry has raised the need for effective, inclusive and clear communication and collaboration. He said this will be part of his role within the OTA.

At Nature’s Path, Falck is responsible in part for developing and presenting seminars to producer, manufacturer and consumer groups in order to build strong networks within the industry. He has built a strong reputation in the organic sector from these efforts in the past three years, including his work on the Canadian Organic Regulatory Committee.

Arran Stephens, President and Founder of Nature’s Path, has also served on the OTA board. Stephens was also active in the OTA’s efforts that ushered in the USDA’s National Organic Program.
