The online training program covers the following areas:
- Definition of the term "dietary supplement."
- Explanation of the various types of claims, including health claims, disease claims, structure-function claims and nutrient content claims.
- Definition and proper use of third-party literature.
- Explanation of requirements for new dietary ingredients including FDA notification requirements.
The course is available online and features a comprehensive explanation of DSHEA, an online test and automated grading. Upon successful completion of the course, individuals receive a Certificate of Completion issued by AIBMR Life Sciences and the National Training Institute (NTI).
