Degussa Veteran to Lead Global Food Strategy at The Solae Company

LOUIS, MO, Feb 06, 2006 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- The Solae Company today announced Thomas Damiano would lead the organization's global food platform strategy, resigning his position as Vice President of Commercial Development at Degussa AG's food ingredient business. In September, Degussa said it would sell the unit to agribusiness giant Cargill, Inc., pending approval by government regulators.

Damiano, with 20 years of global food ingredient business-building experience, is expected to help The Solae Company continue to grow its sales of soy protein used in baked goods, beverages, cereals, bars and other food applications.
