Overview: Charles Raubicheck will discuss the significance of the structure/function claims recently allowed by the FDA for a proprietary white bean extract. Dr. Preuss will review the clinical research and data presented to the FDA.
Function Claims: The structure/function claims for the ingredient, a proprietary extract of the white bean, are as follows, according to a letter issued by the FDA:
-- “May assist in weight control when used in conjunction with a sensible diet and exercise program.”
-- “May reduce the enzymatic digestion of dietary starches.”
