Glanbia showcases new ingredient innovations at IFT

From Greek yogurt to whoopie pies, Glanbia ingredients offer a range of functions.

Leading ingredients expert Glanbia Nutritionals is showcasing its expanding portfolio of custom micronutrient premixes and functional ingredients at this year’s IFT Food Expo in Las Vegas.

Visitors to Glanbia Nutritionals’ booth will be able to sample Greek yogurt fortified with OptiSol 1022, a functional milk protein concentrate that creates thicker yogurt viscosity while boosting protein. Accompanying the yogurt will be toppings fortified for additional nutritional benefits, including probiotic reduced sugar flaxola granola featuring shelf stable probiotics from GanedenBC30, and an antioxidant-rich blueberry sauce topping containing pTeroPure pterostilbene.

Glanbia Nutritionals is also highlighting its extensive beverage ingredient portfolio with a cherry protein beverage featuring a sports nutrition micronutrient premix. This customized, easy to use premix includes Carnipure L-Carnitine L-Tartrate and electrolytes to support muscle recovery and hydration and provides a good source of vitamins B6 and B12. The recovery beverage also features BevWise A-101WS, a whey and soy protein blend that not only provides protein fortification, but also offers excellent flavor expression and clarity in high acid beverage applications.

Complementing the cherry protein beverage is a ready to drink (RTD) smoothie featuring BevWise I-302WM, a milk protein and whey protein blend specifically designed for the rigorous processing requirements of intermediate pH beverages. The beverage also contains BevGrad fine milled flaxseed and a micronutrient premix featuring chromium, grape seed extract and caffeine for energy and weight management.

In terms of snacking, High Protein Chocolate Bites feature a new whipping protein called BarPro 585, with an incredible nougat texture that maintains integrity over a long shelf life.  The bar is enhanced with an Energy and Recovery Micronutrient Premix featuring Setria(R) L-Glutatione and VitaCholine(TM) Choline for optimal athletic performance.

Finally, a Gluten Free Whoopie Pie showcases OptiSol 5300,a flaxseed based, cost effective guar gum replacer in gluten free applications. The center of the Whoopie Pie again features BarPro 585, demonstrating its versatility as a fortified filling.
