NutriCognia, a member of Solbar Group, has announced the launche of Lactofact ™- a rapid lactoferrin glyco-analysis kit that can control the production process and product development as well as improving quality control procedures. Lactofact ™is the first product developed by NutriCognia and is aimed at the dairy industry.
By recognizing the features of various glycans it monitors the glycan content of added value ingredients like lactoferrin and gives an indication of its quality.
LactoFact ™ is based on CarboDeep™, a proprietary technology that compares glycan mixtures and produces a fingerprint of the glycan composition. " LactoFact ™ can help improve the lactoferrin product functionality and important characteristics like stability and shelf-life,” explains Dr. Ofer Markman – CSO at NutriCognia. “We enable our clients to develop high quality products through a better understanding of nutritional applications.”
LactoFact ™ is the first commercially available glyco-array assay for the food industry. It will be launched during the 4th International Whey Conference, September 11-14 in Chicago.
