Planet Dog's New Orbee-Tuff(R) Recycelball and Recyclebone Support the Planet One Fetch At a Time

Portland, Maine (February 2005) – Planet Dog is always looking for ways to develop unique, tail-wagging products with the environment in mind. The creation of the new Orbee-Tuff® RecycleBALL and RecycleBONE demonstrates their commitment to making new toys, not waste. The latest additions to the award-winning Orbee-Tuff® toy collection are made from “regrind”, 100% first quality Orbee-Tuff® material that would otherwise be discarded.

“We don’t know of any other toy company that takes their leftover material and makes productive use of it,” states Alex Fisher, the Chief Creative Officer and co-founder. “With so many of our top selling Orbee-TuffÒ toys out there, it is important for us to make them environment-friendly,” adds Fisher.

Planet Dog has won several awards for their Orbee-Tuff® toy collection, the most durable, pliable, chewy, buoyant and bouncy toys on the market. All of the Orbee-Tuff® toys are non-toxic, mint-scented, offered in a blend of coordinated colors and now recyclable into the new Orbee-Tuff® RecycleBALL and RecycleBONE.

However retailers choose to display them, they are sure to be the center of attention. Planet Dog suggests hanging them on a hook or assorting them in a basket or bin made of recycled material. They also come on j-cards for merchandising flexibility.

Due to the recycled material content, the color of both toys varies - aptly as a range of deep greens. Their packaging is also made from recycled material. Although they are extremely durable, there are some dogs that will chew through anything. Should this happen, Planet Dog customers can send their Orbee-Tuff® toys back to Planet Dog to be recycled into the new RecycleBALL and RecycleBONE.

The Orbee-Tuff® RecycleBALL and RecycleBONE are sold in cases of 12 . They can be purchased on Planet Dog’s exclusive retailer website,, or by calling their toll-free #: 800-381-1516.

Planet Dog is proud to donate a percentage of their annual profits to Planet Dog Philanthropy (PDP), their non-profit grantmaking organization, to give back to the community through animal welfare, education and environmental initiatives. For more information, please visit
