Stagnito Communications, FMI Announce Marketing Agreement

FMI Show magazine, online exhibitor services planned

January 30, 2006. Deerfield, IL – Stagnito Communications Inc. (SCI), a division of Ascend Media LLC, the world’s largest publisher of food, beverage and packaging magazines, announced today a marketing agreement with the Food Marketing Institute, in which it will produce a custom magazine for the Private Label Pavilion at the FMI Show. In addition, SCI also will produce a powerful online direct marketing tool for FMI Show exhibitors. The FMI Show will take place at Chicago’s McCormick Place, May 7-9.

“The FMI Show is the premiere event in the food retailing industry, and we are delighted to partner in the development of compelling new features to enhance both exhibitor and attendee benefits,” stated Harry Stagnito, SCI president.

“The 2006 FMI Show features a focus on the private label category, an increasingly important and profitable part of the supermarket's product mix. This focus includes a substantial display of suppliers of private label products and a pavilion within the exhibit area featuring many of the merchandising, advertising and branding strategies related to this growing category. We are delighted to be working with Stagnito Communications to produce the private label magazine and to be collaborating with them on FMI Expo Suite,” stateded Brian Tully, FMI Senior Vice President.

The FMI Private Label Pavilion magazine will feature content specific to this thriving area of the retail industry. The Pavilion magazine will appear as an insert in the March issue of SCI’s industry leading PL Buyer magazine, as well as on site during the FMI Show. For some retailers, private label is approaching 30% of their business.

In addition, FMI will offer all exhibitors at this year’s Show enhanced online exhibit marketing services using an exclusive and seamless SCI technology. It will permit exhibitors to develop, target, and distribute promotional materials via email or convention print—directly from their computer. The technology makes it faster, easier, and less expensive to increase exhibit traffic and target key prospects.

Food Marketing Institute (FMI) members operate approximately 26,000 retail food stores with a combined annual sales volume of $340 billion — three-quarters of all food retail store sales in the United States. FMI’s retail membership is composed of large multi-store chains, regional firms and independent supermarkets. Its international membership includes 200 companies from 60 countries.
