Probiotic innovation is due to expand in the South American market! Today Ganeden Biotech, a recognized world leader in the manufacturing and marketing of probiotics, revealed that GanedenBC30 (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) will now be available in significant South American markets through a distribution agreement with Grupo Saporiti, S.A. Saporiti will be the distributor of GanedenBC30 in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Venezuela.

“The South American population continues to be increasingly concerned with health and wellness and are demanding functional foods and beverages to help support a healthy lifestyle,” says Michael Bush, senior vice president of Ganeden Biotech. “Our new relationship with Saporiti will provide us the opportunity to introduce the unique capabilities of GanedenBC30 to the South American market, while leveraging Saporiti’s 80-plus years of education and experience.”

GanedenBC30® (Bacillus coagulans GBI-30, 6086) is a patented probiotic ingredient that can be found in more than 100 leading food, beverage and companion animal products throughout the world. Unlike most other probiotic strains, GanedenBC30 is a spore-former which makes it highly stable and allows it remain viable through most manufacturing processes, up to three years of shelf life and the low pH of stomach acid. The efficacy of GanedenBC30 is backed by 20 published studies showing digestive and immune support and has an exceptional safety record with FDA GRAS status from the United States FDA. It can be formulated into virtually any product food or beverage product and will not change the sensory characteristics of the product.

“Chronic health problems and unhealthy eating habits direct consumers towards functional foods and beverages that can help them live a better quality of life,” says Esteban Saporiti, commercial director of Grupo Saporiti. “Holistic health is closely tied to the digestive system and unfortunately due to stress and other factors the digestive system can become unbalanced; probiotics aid in balancing intestinal function and therefore present great growth opportunity,” added Saporiti. “The Saporiti Group believes there is a competitive advantage to being a distributor of the probiotic GanedenBC30 that can be formulated into a variety of innovative food and beverage applications where other probiotics are unable to be used.”
