The award, which recognizes individuals or non-commercial organizations that have a significant impact on furthering knowledge and understanding of botanicals and their uses, was presented at AHPA's annual member meeting in Anaheim, Calif., on March 10. Zoe Gardner is the project manager with the Traditional Medicinals research and development team.

Gardner, a member of the Expert Advisory Council, was recognized for her revision to AHPA's Botanical Safety Handbook, which provides safety data on more than 600 herbs with guidelines for product labels, including contraindications, side effects, and drug interactions.

“I’m proud to contribute to Traditional Medicinals’ award-winning legacy,” said Gardner. “Since the company’s beginning in 1974, Traditional Medicinals has produced over one billion medicinal tea products with an impeccable track record of quality, safety, and sustainability. "AHPA embraces the important roles of research and development in a robust herbal products market.
