D.W. Montgomery & Co. Appoints Cesar Contreras, Changes Name to Montgomery Contreras & Co.

Satellite Beach, FL - March 31, 2003 - D.W. Montgomery & Company, a long-established supplier of specialty and organic sugar products, wishes to announce the appointment of Cesar A. Contreras to Vice President and Director of Technical Services. "I believe the added skills that Cesar brings to our company demonstrates our commitment to grow and to provide the best possible services to our clients," stated company President and Founder David W. Montgomery, Sr. "Furthermore, Cesar holds true to the same values and ethics that we have made a cornerstone of our business for over 35 years."

Contreras joins the company as an officer and stockholder, and as such the firm has decided to rename the company to Montgomery Contreras & Company in order to reflect this strategic development. David W. Montgomery, Jr., Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said,"Cesar and I have a long history of working together. Our skill sets are synergistic in developing new concepts and providing high product integrity. We are honored to have his name affiliated with ours."

Contreras holds a Masters Degree in Food Science and Technology from Texas Tech University and has more than 18 years of experience in the natural and organic foods industry, including serving as Director of Technical Services and Product Development Vice President of Product Development and Quality Assurance with organic foods leader Arrowhead Mills Inc., and as Director of Technical Sales for Wholesome Sweeteners Inc.

In his role with Montgomery Contreras & Co., Contreras will operate out of a new office in the Houston area and will be responsible for directing new product development and overseeing customer service. He will also assist in implementation of the company's strategic business plan.

Founded in 1968 by David Montgomery, Sr., Montgomery Contreras & Co., is a third-generation, family-owned business, and has been a leader in supplying specialty, natural and organic sugars to the U.S. market, including organic sugar from Zucarmex of Mexico, turbinado natural sugars from Louisiana, and demerara and other specialty sugars fromorganic sugar from countries including Mauritius. and Guyana. David Montgomery, Jr., recently returned to the family business to serve as VP of Sales and Marketing after furthering his career in the organic sugar industry, where he served as Director of Marketing for Florida Crystals, and as President of organic sugar provider Wholesome Sweeteners Inc.

Currently, the company is involved in a trade and marketing partnership with the de la Vega family of Culiacancan, Mexico. Owner of five sugar mills in Mexico, the family recently started producing organic sugar at two of its millsconverted two of its mills to organic, and Montgomery Contreras & Co. is introducing this high quality organic sugar to the U.S. market. The company also plans to broaden its range of organic products for manufacturers and suppliers and to develop private label programs in the United States.
